Leslie has lived in Northfleet for the past 33 years. His children went to schools in the Division. He was County Councillor for Northfleet from 1994 to 2001 and now County Councillor for Northfleet and Gravesend West. Leslie’s working life was spent as a Trade Union Officer, culminating in being General Secretary of the largest Civil Service Trade Union and serving on the General Council of the TUC.

Maureen has lived in Gravesend East for the past 35 years and has been a County Councillor since 2001 representing Gravesend East. After raising a family Maureen worked for 15 years in the voluntary sector managing an advice agency until being elected as a County Councillor.
