At KCC’s Money Grabbing Antics

Northfleet and Gravesend West County Councillor Ray Parker has reacted angrily to Kent County Council’s Tory administration’s decision to push for an extra 4.95% on this years Council Tax Bills.

The 4.95% increase which equates to an extra £45.45 per year will mean hard working families will have to pay even more to KCC despite higher grants from Government.

Ray Parker said: “It’s disgusting that families and pensioners in my division will have to pay this exorbitant increase. £45.45 is an increase many people can not afford”.

Kent County Council’s own financial records show a £40million increase in Government grants since this time last year.

Ray Parker went on to say: “How dare Kent’s Tories suggest that they need more money when they have wasted millions of pounds on the botched highways reorganisation, millions more on the Turner Centre, that didn’t even see a brick laid, not to mention tens of thousands of pounds on the failed EU Jet along with tens of thousands of pounds on globe trotting junkets by senior Tory Councillors. While they waste all this cash, my constituents are expected to tighten their belts in order to stump up more cash”.
