£500 MILLION FOR KENT

Jim Knight, The Minister of State for Schools, visited Thanet on Tuesday and local Thanet County Councillors Alan Poole, Elizabeth Green and Clive Hart took the opportunity to thank him personally for the Building Schools for the Future (BSF) project that will see massive Government investment in education in Thanet over the next few years.

Kent County Council will benefit from BSF programmes in three districts across Kent. With an estimated cost of more than £500 million, the first stage of BSF will refurbish and rebuild all the secondary schools in Thanet, Gravesham and Swale. The programme will also see substantial investment in ICT infrastructure and equipment.

The Government have given a commitment to bring every school up to a good standard and the massive investment from the BSF programme will give Thanet schools some of the best facilities in the country.

Kent County Councillors: Elizabeth Green (01843 591495), Alan Poole (01843 602594) & Cllr. Clive Hart (01843 298770).
