KENT LABOUR WELCOMES KCC CABINET CHANGE

KCC’s Labour Group has welcomed the news that Tory Council Leader Paul Carter will be making changes to his Cabinet, replacing the current Children, Families & Education portfolio holders John Simmonds and Tony Robinson.

Mike Eddy, the Labour Group’s Shadow Leader of KCC, said: “The Children, Families & Education portfolios are crucial to the well-being of young people in our county, but Education in particular has lacked leadership since John Simmonds took over.

“We hope that the new Cabinet Members will get to grips with their departments as soon as possible, especially with the Education department, some areas of which we feel are currently not fit for purpose”.
